We are in the property management business on the north shore of Kauai. One of our biggest challenges is finding competent qualified service people to handle the many issues that pop up from time to time. A water leak going undetected for a prolonged period of time is a problem nobody wants to discover, and then expedite it’s clean up and repair.

Back towards the end of April of 2019 one of our long term rental properties had a water leak problem under the kitchen sink and as one can see by the pictures below it had reached mold code “black” in a very short period of time. (how the tenant did not notice it sooner is another story for another time)

Upon my visit to the property to check on the “leak” under the kitchen sink I was shocked to see the the damage that had occurred. The first thing I did was call Brian and Justin at Eco Kauai and explain that we had a big problem and I was concerned about the health risks involved with the tenants being exposed to mold. Luckily the area was somewhat contained as the doors to the cabinet were closed. Brain assured me that he would reschedule a few other jobs they were working on and come inspect the next day. They showed up early and ready to get to work and that’s what they did. On Kauai it is very rare when a service provider will come to a new customer as quickly as Eco Kauai did. I know as I have been managing properties for 10 years.

In closing both Brian and Justin were very professional with their demeanor and concerns for the tenants and owner. We had a deadline to finish the job in order to get the tenants back into the property for their daughters high school graduation which was to be attended by many traveling relatives. Eco Kauai came through in a big way and hit our deadline on the day. Under the circumstances they performed admirably and turned a bad situation completely around and did excellent work. I would highly recommend Eco Kauai for the go to mold remediation and property preservation company on Kauai.

Dave & Connie Swierski in Kalihiwai Ridge: Where do we start.. Justin and Brian were “on time” for our first meeting. Wow! The estimate was reasonable and was followed-up by an email of the estimate. The work was performed over a two-day period one week later; again within the arrival times promised. Everything was done in a very professional manner (NO… dogs, kids & family hanging about, loud music, excessive time on the phone or long breaks) truly unusual in our experience. Now about the quality of their work… we have not seen anything this careful and detailed since we left the mainland 15 years ago. They cleaned our 2400 sft metal roof, facias and gutters, along with our two Rubbermaid ag sheds. All were in dire need of black mold removal and they all came out looking brand new. Really, brand new! They took the time to pre-treat and wash down properly. We are still amazed. They will have our loyal business in the future.
